Possessive Nouns Apostrophes are little marks of punctuation, but they can have a big effect on meaning. Let’s Look!! These old bags in the corner are my grandmothers. (Say what??) Is this what you mean?? No!! Plural noun

Rules, Rules, Rules… To form the possessive of a singular noun, simply add ‘s The monster’s nose The ant’s antennas

Rule #2 If a noun is plural and ends in s, just add an apostrophe at the end of the word. The monster s’ noses The ants’ antennas

Rule #3 If a noun is plural and does not end in s, add ‘s at the end of the word. The children’s candy The mice’s whiskers
