7 Indenting Paragraphs: “Candy Kisses”- “Never grab a kiss until they tell you their name.” First line indent- The first line of each paragraph is indented while the other subsequent lines are not. Steps to indent the first line of multiple paragraphs: Select paragraphs Format menu Paragraph Indents and spacing tab Special drop-list

8 2 nd way to indent first line of multiple paragraphs: Select the paragraphs Drag first line indent marker on ruler

9 What if….. You have already typed a document but failed to indent paragraphs: Select all of document Click and hold first line indent & slide over ½ inch.

10 Hanging Indent: The first line of the paragraph hangs to the left and every other line receives the indent.

12 AUTOCORRECT: a feature that automatically corrects some typographical errors as you type To find: tools – autocorrect tab (ex: replace tcchs with Todd County Central High School) Autocorrect options button: Displays when you click the small blue box below text Displays a menu that allows you to undo a correction or change how Word handles future automatic corrections

13 Footnotes/Endnotes: Footnote- Explanatory note at the bottom of the page Endnote- explanatory note at the end of the document Superscript- raised numbers or letters

26 Smart Tags: Autocorrect options: undoes an automatic correction, stops future automatic corrections of this type, or displays the autocorrect options dialog box Paste options- specifies how moved or pasted items should display, e.g., (1) with original formatting, (2) without formatting, or with different formatting.
