9 What you can DO Share and Contribute: Share your original research via our open access repository, the Work and Family Commons,Work and Family Commons Keep us updated on the latest blogs and news articles of interest to you by posting to the News Feed,News Feed List your meetings, conferences and calls for papers on our Calendar,Calendar Become a Member of the new WFRN.Member You will need an login/account to contribute news, calendar listings or repositorylogin/account submissions. Accounts are free and are available to both WFRN members and non members.

11 To Post News Suitable postings include: calls for papers, your latest report or newsletter, press releases, book announcements, job opportunities, websites of interest, or articles not suitable for the Work and Family Commons. When posting be sure to click Save at the bottom of the form! You can preview your posting before or after saving. 13 To Submit Your Research to WFC Work and Family Commons houses an interdisciplinary collection of research reports, journal articles, conference papers and presentations, books, book chapters, and working papers. Work and Family Commons Materials are submitted directly by authors including faculty, researchers, staff, and other contributors. Open access = immediate, permanent online access to the full text of research articles for anyone, worldwide.

15 Copyright Guidelines for WFC https://workfamily.sas.upenn.edu/content/copyright-guidelines https://workfamily.sas.upenn.edu/content/copyright-guidelines To deposit a work in WFC you must hold the copyright or have the approval of the copyright holder. IF YOU RETAIN COPYRIGHT to the work and have not given someone else exclusive rights to distribute it, you should be able to submit it to WFC. If you share the copyright with other authors, check with them first. IF YOU DON’T RETAIN COPYRIGHT but have transferred your rights to your publisher, you may still be able to deposit a version of your paper. You can check your publisher’s copyright policy to determine what is allowed to be submitted to a subject matter repository.

16 Version Definitions Author’s Pre-print = working paper Author’s Post-print = the final, post-peer-review version of the article that has been accepted for publication, but not yet copy edited by the journal. Publisher’s Version/PDF = the peer-reviewed, copy-edited version as it appears in the published journal (an exact page image of the article as it appears in print).

21 Uploading Your Deposit Once you have completed the submission form and checked the the submission agreement and copyright status box, it’s time to upload your PDF. Don’t forget to click on Save to WFC to deposit your document. Locate your file on your computer Make sure your file is converted to PDF format

22 See “My WFC Submissions” under your name to determine when your article is available. Your Name Your Picture
