Blogs A blog (sometimes referred to as a weblog) is a Web publishing tool that allows authors to quickly and easily self-publish text, artwork, links to other blogs or Web sites, videos and a variety of other content.

QR Codes QR stands for Quick Response – they are bar codes on steroids. It is a matrix that when scanned by a camera immediately brings up text, website, video and other types of information. You can go to an online QR code generator and then use a QR code scanner app for a smart phone to scan and read the generated code.

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends. *Note that the wordles are not screened for content. Let’s try it

Educational Uses for Wordle: “About Me” “Guess What” – description of an animal, topic, book “Word Wall” – consist of new vocabulary (or phrase) that is displayed in a prominent position throughout the unit. It identifies the key vocabulary students need to understand the subject. Check for Prior Knowledge – brainstorm words that relate to a particular topic. For example – DNA
