She went back using the Underground Railroad to save hundreds more.

Created a hair care business in 1905, which made her the first self-made, female millionaire.

14. Oprah Winfrey
With a net-worth of $800 million in 2000, she is believed to have been the richest African American of the 20th century.

15. Garrett Morgan He was the first person to patent the traffic signal.
He created the gas mask that soldiers used in the U.S. Army.
