The battle started after the king of England died, when that happened some men wanted to be king one was Harold the 2 nd and the other was William the Duke of Normandy. The Duke of Normandy took Harold's crowning as a declaration of war. That’s how the battle of Hastings started.

The battle of Hastings took place at Senlac Hill, Its about 6 miles north west of Hastings in England. King Harold had an advantage because of the placement since he didn’t have to walk as far as Duke William.

The battle of Hastings between king Harold the 2 nd and Duke William of Normandy took an unusual turn of events, because when when Duke William wanted to attack he couldn’t since there was a large group of Saxons (soldiers on King Harold's side). Just then a group of Norman (soldiers on Williams side) Horseman fled the battle and some of the Saxons left their place and chased after them. That was a big mistakes.

Duke William of Normandy and the Normans won that battle because a single arrow shot by an anonymous archer stabbed King Harold in the eye, and one other Norman finished it off by killing King Harold.
