3. Iago tells Roderigo that he hates Othello. Othello has promoted Cassio to Lt. and made Iago his ensign (kind of like a corporal…a low ranking position…in this case a personal assistant to O.) Iago and Roderigo tell Brabantio (Desdemona’s dad) about her elopement to Othello. Brabantio becomes enraged and gathers an armed band to find O.

Iago warns Othello of Brabantio’s anger O. is confident in his strength and in his love Desi Cassio arrives with orders for O. to meet with the Duke Brabantio and band seize O. and O. says come with me to the Duke. They go to see the Duke: O. to meet with the Duke and Bra to present his case as well.

7. The Duke has called O. to discuss the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. When they arrive, the Duke tells Brabantio that he needs evidence to support his claim that O. bewitched Desi into marrying him. Desi is sent for O. describes his courtship with Desi and shows that she fell in love with him. Desi arrives and confirms that she does love him and married him. The Duke sends O. to Cypress immediately and grants Desi permission to go with O. on trip. O. tells Cassio and Iago to accompany her for safety. Brabantio warns O. not to trust Desi

8. Alone, Roderigo threatens suicide because he is sad about the marriage of O. and Desi Iago convinces Rod. to sell everything and pursue Desi to Cyprus Alone, Iago again says he hates the Moor. He has heard rumors that O. has slept with his wife, and those these are just rumors, he will act as if it is true. Iago plots to tell O. that Cassio is “too familiar with his wife” get revenge and get the position he wants: Lieutenant
