15 Application Specific Parameter Groups
Speed configuration of common applications with the AppView™ tool Application parameters grouped together provide faster visibility to drive settings AppView has a total of 8 groups including: conveyors, fans, mixers and pumps AppView programming is available using Connected Components Workbench or the human interface module (HIM) AppView™ programming speeds up configuration by providing parameter groups for several of the most common applications, including conveyors, mixers, compressors, pumps and blowers.

16 Custom Configuration CustomView™ configuration tool allows you to create and save custom parameter groups Add or remove parameters from an AppView group or create your own Up to 100 parameters CustomView programming is available using Connected Components Workbench or HIM You can customize your machine and further reduce future design and development time by quickly creating custom parameter groups using the CustomView™ tool. This configuration option, which is also available through the HIM or Connected Components Workbench, allows you to customize your configuration by adding or removing parameters from an AppView group or save your own custom group of parameters. • AppView configuration provides parameters for common applications • Create and save a custom group of parameters using the CustomView tool

17 CustomView Configuration
Select parameters from parameter list Move parameters by clicking the “add” or “remove” buttons Parameters appear in the CustomView window

18 StepLogic StepLogic is used for position or velocity and allows the drive to operate as an independent position controller Positioning and velocity parameters are automatically set in the drive Graphical editor greatly reduces time programming for simple positioning (i.e. turntables and diverters)

19 StepLogic Function Logic controlled steps using preset speed settings
Each step can be programmed to: Step, based on digital input(s) command (drive can perform basic AND, OR and NOT logic) Step, based on a specified time Control speed, direction and accel/decel rate Control the status of an output Make deterministic jumps Logic In 1 Logic In 2 Stp Logic Out StepLogic is used for position or velocity and allows the drive to operate as an independent position controller Positioning and velocity parameters are automatically set in the drive Graphical editor greatly reduces time programming for simple positioning (i.e. turntables and diverters)

20 Communications Configure, control and monitor your devices with onboard communications Seamless integration into Logix architecture with a standard embedded port for EtherNet/IP Optional dual port EtherNet/IP card provides more connectivity options and device level ring (DLR) functionality Supports additional industrial networks DeviceNet Profibus DP (single port) Supports multiple communication options to provide a variety of network choices and optimized integration with system controller Embedded EtherNet/IP DSI port Option Card Dual Port EtherNet/IP with DLR card DeviceNet Profibus DP PF4 series backwards migration support 22-COMM-D (DeviceNet), 22-COMM-E (EtherNet), 22-COMM-C (ControlNet)

21 EtherNet/IP™ Topologies
Linear Star Ring Linear: All devices are connected on the network which has exactly two endpoints Star: Each device is connected to a central hub with a point-to-point connection Ring: Each device is set up in a circular model in which data travels around the ring in one direction and each device on the right acts as a repeater. Star, linear, Ring—talk about DLR, hybrid DLR is a differentiator for us Only Rockwell Automation supports rings at the device level (DLR)

22 Automatic Device Configuration (ADC)
ADC allows a user to configure their Logix system to automatically download a drive’s configuration Ideal for drive replacement ADC is a version 20 and above feature Also compliments: Stratix 6000 & 8000 and 5700 switches Automatically assigns IP Address Firmware Supervisor Flashes the drive and peripherals ADC is a v20 Logix-based feature that allows a user to configure their Logix system to automatically download a “large” device’s configuration – typically after it has been replaced Configuration data for “large” devices resides in the ACD file and the Logix controller, but the download was a manual process in v16-v19 Also compliments: Stratix 6000 & 8000 and 5700 switches Automatically assigns IP Address (if desired for the application) Firmware Supervisor Flash the drive and/or peripherals (if desired for the application) Download button Add-On Profile (AOP) of desired drive in RSLogix 5000

23 Automatic Device Configuration (ADC)
Example 2:00 AM Configuration Flash Stratix 6000 / 8000 / 5700 IP Address EtherNet/IP Automatic Device Configuration (ADC) is another productivity enhancing feature available with Studio 5000 software and PowerFlex 525 drives. This feature, enabled by EtherNet/IP, allows a Logix controller to automatically detect a replaced PowerFlex 525 drive and download firmware and all configuration parameters, minimizing the need for manual reconfiguration. Only PowerFlex drives with embedded EtherNet/IP networking can help reduce maintenance time and increase productivity with Automatic Device Configuration. Helps save the user time and money by reducing downtime

24 Reduce Downtime with Automatic Device Configuration
Topologies ADC Automatic assignment of EtherNet/IP address Manually load EtherNet/IP Competitive controller No Required Stratix 2000 Yes Stratix 5700, 6000, 8000 DLR Note that 6000 and 8000 switches work as well as 5700 Only drives from Rockwell Automation have this capability

25 Embedded EtherNet/IP & Dual Port Card
Dual port EtherNet/IP provides an additional networking solution that can simplify installation and lower costs associated with switches Dual port card provides DLR (device level ring) functionality Maximum recommended number of nodes in a DLR network is 50 When dual port card is installed, embedded single port still available for drive programming Drive does not act as e-tap

26 Datalinks PowerFlex 525 drives provide 8 datalinks:
4 in and 4 out Ease of programming by allowing drives to transfer any parameter values to controllers Reduces programming time by eliminating the need to write a message Any parameter can be a datalink, e.g. What is my output current? What is instantaneous power consumption? A Datalink is a mechanism used by PowerFlex drives to transfer data to and from the controller. Datalinks allow a drive parameter value to be read or written to without using an Explicit Message. When enabled, each Datalink occupies two 16-bit words in a PLC-5, SLC 500 or MicroLogix 1100/1400 controller. When you use a Datalink to change a value, the value is stored in volatile memory and lost when the drive loses power. So use Datalinks when you need to change a value of a parameter frequently. Information is always accessible to operator Show picture of AOP with Datalinks area circled 4 in 4 out Why Datalinks? Ease of programming No message instruction required What is output current in controller? If I wanted that I would have to put it in my ladder logic and would always message to the drive reduced operator coding time, etc Frequency of update—Scott miles Can use any parameter as a drive as a datalink Reduces programming time Get information use instant power consumptionas a datalink—always available to operator in controller

27 Safety Help protect your personnel and assets with standard embedded Safe Torque-Off Reduce wiring and installation space with embedded safety Helps with faster start ups and reduces wear on motor assets Provides safety rating up to and including SIL2/PLd Cat 3

28 Energy Savings Energy saving features help reduce energy consumption and increase efficiency Economizer mode in sensorless vector control adjusts to reduce energy consumption while meeting the demands of the application Measures power consumption Optimizes current output Delivers reduction in energy consumption Energy parameters deliver data on energy usage and can help monitor health of assets Replace traditional flow control with variable frequency drives Energy savings tracking parameters Monitor and report energy usage data and provide that information in a standard format to help develop and manage an energy strategy for your operations.
