Canine Adenovirus CAV-1 –Infectious canine hepatitis –Can cause pulmonary pathology CAV-2 –Primary adenoviral pneumonia rare –Associated with immunosuppression –Often in conjunction with co-infection (CDV & CPI) or secondary infection Presented at SEVPAC 2008 – Permission granted for use on SEVPAC website only

Morphologic Diagnosis N ecrotizing bronchiolitis, subacute, multifocal, moderate to severe, with large, basophilic, intranuclear inclusions (etiology consistent with Adenovirus) and rare eosinophilic intranuclear and intracytoplasmic inclusions (etiology consistent with Morbillivirus), lung. Interstitial pneumonia, fibrinous and suppurative, subacute, diffuse, moderate with large, basophilic, intranuclear inclusions consistent with adenovirus, lung.
