How does a digital strategy sit in relation to a traditional ICT strategy? As an organisation’s business and ICT strategies must align at multiple levels… … so too must digital strategies align at organisational and ICT department levels … – An organisation’s digital strategy is but a part of its wider business strategy. – An organisation’s ICT strategy, delivered by its ICT unit, should be seen to support these higher-level business and digital strategies. – The digital strategy is not the ICT strategy... www.socitm.net Consequences for ICT leaderships?

Signals from outside? – Scenario: Appointment of a ‘digital leader(ship)’ with limited ICT expertise and not located in the ICT unit Signals a desire for a wider digital strategy for the business as a whole ‘They’ believe it really is about more than just ICT Begging…. How best to engage proactively with such non-ICT digital leaderships and deliver value into the common agenda?
