The modules you take are shared with those pursuing ‘single’ honours degrees Core modules are identified, optional or ‘approved’ modules are chosen by you For most subjects, there is flexibility in the weighting of subjects in your degree You are classified under the same regulations as those for ‘single’ honours

4 More work? With An Individualised Degree. Duals and Combined Honours students take the same number of credits as single honours students They just take a fewer number in each subject area It is not more academic work, although you may need to be slightly more organised

Dual and Combined Honours students take the same number of modules as in a single honours programme Lectures, Seminars, Practical sessions Dissertation/Final Year Projects Study Year Abroad – included in language, optional for other programmes Core modules ensure a solid skills background – but more subjects mean more skills Wider experience and more to put on a CV

10 How many students? With An Individualised Degree. Across the University, there are over 1300 undergraduate Dual Honours students There are over 90 Dual Honours programmes There is an Interdisciplinary Programmes Office to support those students in Arts and Humanities

12 Postgraduate Study With An Individualised Degree. PGCE/Teacher Training – if you keep your degree at 50:50 you will have two specialist subjects Accountancy Law Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Discipline or Interdisciplinary study

Check the details of the programme carefully and look at individual module content if necessary Sometimes titles of programmes can be misleading If you are interested in a particular area of study, check the research interests of the academic staff, via the webpages Don’t be afraid to ask questions throughout the process – it shows initiative

Dual Honours - Via UCAS – as per a single honours If you are interested in the Combined Honours – Triple degree the code is Y001 Personal Statements – most universities will accept a supplementary personal statement if you contact them directly – it is usually NOT REQUIRED
