Worship, Sacrifice, and Murder
Genesis 4-5 Worship, Sacrifice, and Murder
3
Genesis 4:1-12 (NKJV) Now Adam knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said, “I have acquired a man from the Lord.” Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in the process of time, it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. Now Cain talked with Abel his brother, and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against his brother and killed him.

Genesis 4:1-12 (NKJV) Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”

The Generations of Cain
Cain married his sister named AWAN, which means WICKEDNESS. They lived in the land of NOD, which means WANDERING. Cain had a MARK put on him to identify him to the rest of the world as a MURDERER. There is no indication as to what that mark was. Cain’s descendants went through SEVEN generations before his line was wiped out in the FLOOD. Cain’s generations were: -CAIN -ENOCH -IRAD -MEHUJAEL -METHUSAEL -LAMECH -JABAL, JUBAL, TUBAL-CAIN The number of years each of Cain’s descendants lived were not given in the text, while the line of Adam and Seth were explained in great detail.

The Generations of Adam
Enoch was TRANSLATED into heaven because he pleased God. Elijah the prophet was also TRANSLATED later on– a CHARIOT came down from heaven to take him up. Both prophets are supposed to appear at the END of the WORLD to be martyred on the streets. Methuselah’s name meant “When he DIES, it shall COME.” In the year that he died, the FLOOD came. He is also the human being who lived the LONGEST. Noah was the FIRST in Adam’s line to be born after his death. His is known as the SECOND ADAM because he repopulated the world. Everyone else actually heard the story of the GARDEN OF EDEN from ADAM himself. Noah was 600 years old when the flood came. II Peter 3:8 states that “with the Lord, ONE day is as a THOUSAND years, and a THOUSAND years is as ONE day.” Thus, in God’s time, we are BORN and DIE on the same day. His warning in Genesis 2 comes true.
