I was born on the sixteenth of January, 1889 in Ajaccio, France to an Italian family. I was a child actor and performed in Paris, working with my agent named Andre Charlot. I made my first appearance on stage at the age of thirteen, at the Varietes, Paris.

I made my first debut in Broadways Of Paris at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City. I made my Hollywood debut in the Warner Brother’s Show of Shows. Throughout the 1930’s, I was a guess singer and featured in many shows. I was featured in a smoking add, which greatly increased the number of smoking among women greatly. I was married to an actor named Edgar Becman who I divorced in 1917. I married again on October 24 th, 1918 to a Broadway producer and lyricist named E. Ray Goetz. He produced many of my Broadway shows We divorced in 1929. I starred in many silent movies such as: Pierrot aime les roses, Le club des elegants, La chatelain, and Le traquenard. I also starred in some talking movies such as: Paris, The Show of Shows, Du Barry Did Alright, Louisiana Purchase. (And, one more that wasn’t very appropriate, haha.)

I sang a few songs such as: So This is Love, Do I Love You, Where is the Song of Songs For Me, Don’t Look at Me That Way, and You Can’t Believe My Eyes.

I made my Hollywood Debut in 1928 in the Warner Brother’s Show of Shows. In 1941, I reprised my role from a musical in the Paramount Pictures film Louisiana Purchase (with Bob Hope) I had another success in the role of “Bloody Mary” in a the national tour of the musical South Pacific in 1951. Because of my status as a major American star, Cole Porter wrote a song called “You’re on Top,” which included the line “You’re in the eyes of Irene Bordoni.”
