3. Recommendations Observational programs designed specifically to inform model parameterization improvements, e.g., polynyas A model framework that is sufficiently modular to allow use of swapping in/out of simple model components (following philosophy of complex systems analysis)

Recommendations Topic for international workshop: strategy for adopting a stepwise approach, i.e., include components as they become mature/available In future workshop, participation of disciplines with undeveloped models should be ensured (e.g., seek out the right people to address inclusion of the human component)
