Warm-Up When carpeting, you must calculate the amount of floor space. Sometimes the space is made up of several types of shapes. 1. Identify some of the polygons that make up the family room, nook, and foyer area shown in this floor plan. 2. How can the polygons be used to find the total area that will be carpeted? Composite Figures A composite figure is made up of two or more shapes. To find the area of a composite figure, separate the figure into shapes whose areas you know how to find. Then find the sum of these areas. Una figura compuesta se compone de dos o más formas.
