Course Objectives Build on the students ’ knowledge of English Broaden their vocabulary Deepen their understanding of grammar Equip them with the tools to have meaningful discussions on a wide range of topics

Course Teaching Methods The students will engage in pair and small group work. When suitable they will do role-play to demonstrate their mastery of studied items and topics.

Course Evaluation Homework and active participation: 30%, midterm exam: 30%, final exam: 40%. Unexcused absences result in deductions of the semester final grade. Students must take leave in writing a week in advance. Failure to do so will result in being marked as “ unexcused absence. ” Being more then 15 minutes late for class counts as absent. There will only be make-up exams for very good reasons (e.g. accidents, sudden illness) and only if they are documented.
