 Multiple Pro Offense  Pro Pass  Power Run  Play Action  No-Huddle Attack  Dictate Tempo  Use Momentum  Concept teaching  6 run / 6 pass concepts  Balance run – pass  Ball control offense  High scoring offense  Luther offense - 2006 #5 In Nation Total Offense ▪ 445.5 yard per game #14 In Nation Passing Offense ▪ 269.4 yards per game #44 In Nation Rushing Offense ▪ 176.1 yards per game #59 In Nation Scoring Offense ▪ 25.8 points per game #1 In Nation Total Plays ▪ 83.1 Plays Per Game In IIAC since installing Top 3 Time of Possession (5 Years) Top 3 Scoring (4 Years) 2

 NUMBERS - attack voids in defense  ANGLES - use defensive alignment to gain blocking advantage  FIELD - use width of field to run away from pursuit  NORMALCY - stay on track (avoid disasters) execute  TEMPO - control rhythm of game, fast break or slow down 3

4

 LOOK & SEE*Every play is an audible 1. QB sets defense to look for numbers-voids 2. Play is called according to situational game plan. 3. used to create advantage, rather than avoid disaster.  BUNCH 1. Loose-bunch, 2 yards off line of scrimmage or on sideline.  GO-GO 1. No huddle, team is in fast break mode to speed up game. 2. Used after first down gained / offense has developed rhythm.  GATOR 1. No huddle, shotgun, QB cues center by raising leg. 5

 DALLAS (Double cadence) 1. Use full attack mode, then go-go mode! 2. Used to force defense to adjust alignment.  2-MIN 1. No huddle, automatic go-go or gun-gun (save clock).  MULE TRAIN 1. No huddle, QB will use all of play clock, “mule-mule”. 2. Used to run clock.

 # CALL / PERSONNEL NAME / BACKS / TE’S / REC’S / RBACK  22CRUNCH221  21REGULAR212  20TIGER203  112RHINO1121  103FLEX-RHINO1031  12ELEPHANT122  11JAGUAR113  10EAGLE104  00OWL005  01FLEX-OWL014 7

 Basis to offense!  The most important factor about the no huddle offense is effective communication.  We will use verbal cues along with hand signals to communicate everything we would do in a huddle.  To start a series - use a “bunch” type huddle to communicate the first play and then take the field and go. 8

STEP 1  Signal / call personnel grouping  Reverse defensive logic / get outside of your comfort zone STEP 2  Personnel group determines offensive sets  Offensive set determines offensive thinking / pass – run priority STEP 3  Pass – Run priority determines what to look for in defense  Defense determines pass – run call / 1-2-3 triangle thinking STEP 4  Apply offensive principals with player match ups  *Keep yourself smart and keep yourself simple STEP 5  Stay within triangle / Best match up wins  No magic play 9

 Core Offense (look & see / fast break / go-go)  Mule offense (4 min. left with lead)  Quad offense (4 plays left only)  2 minute offense (half and game)  1 yard line:Critical (in & out)  20 yard line:run & pass (Red & Black)  +35 yard line: 4 down zone 2-point plays (offense and gate-O)  -35 to +35 yard line: free zone  Punting game  Field goal game  Kick-off and return game  3rd down offense:1-3 (short), 4-6 (med.)  7-10 (long), 12+ (3rdXL), 2nd & 20+  Blitz package: interior & perimeter  Nickel-dime package: run & pass 10

13 Drill set up Two Qb's, from zero-twins formation, execute bubble screen left and right. start with #1 rec, progress to #2 and #3. *Use rec's as def's to block. *Use drill as Qb warm up / stance / stalk block / catch / run after catch. *Use breakdown drills to teach "parts" and build toward "whole" concept.

 Drill set up 1st coach = bubble read #1 2nd coach (ball in hand) = shovel read #2 If shovel pass - then coach throws ball to Qb – Qb runs #3 *Offensive team must gain 10 yds without being touched by defense!

STRONG SIDE AND QUICK SIDE (OLINE COUNTER SERIES) - use strong side counter (best oline pulling). - use quick side to trap (best trapper). - increase reps by running strong-weak side plays. RIGHT – LEFT RECEIVERS - best receiver to qb’s arm strength. - work mismatches with defensive personnel 16

WHOLE – PART – WHOLE - introduce big picture and teach concepts. - break down into parts (position drills). - build from position groups – then team. 5 OR 10 MIN PERIODS – SITUATIONS – TEMPO - practice 5 to 10 min situations. - run specific plays (o-thinking) for situation. - use specific defenses for situation. 2-3 PLAYS PER MIN = (10 MIN PERIOD / 25 TOTAL PLAYS) - keep constant movement. - move Oline hash mark to hash mark. - player rotations. - use tempo to gain or regain rhythm. 17

OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR EXECUTION - POSITIONING - set up on defensive side of ball. - face qb and signal set. - call out defensive front and cover. - signal offensive play. - call and execute defensive blitz and focus. - use your defensive terminology for communication. 19 PRE PRACTICE STEPS - new / review / screen game / specials POST PRACTICE - perfect plays / red zone and score / 2 min offense - kick game transition / run out the clock REMINDERS - slow / slow / slow - you have all day - change tempo - versus stemming defense = stem them (movements)! DRILL TEACHING EXAMPLES - run game daily progression - pass game daily progression - GOOD VERSUS GOOD – EVERYDAY! 19
