2  Students are expected to be in class for Channel One by 8:30 a.m.  The tardy bell rings at 8:40 a.m.  Students arriving to campus before 8:25 a.m. are required to wait in the cafeteria until informed to go to class.

3 If a student chooses to interrupt the instructor, or the learning of other students, the consequences are as follows:  Warning  Different seat in the room  Removed from classroom for the remainder of the period. -complete a reflection sheet -complete the assignments provided -If further disruption, it becomes an office referral.  Teacher will send a copy of reflection home to be signed and returned  If a student is removed from the same classroom three or more times, there will be a parent conference with the principal.

4 Discipline for students engaging in repeated inappropriate behavior will be ◦ loss of school privileges, ◦ lunch detention, or ◦ Out of School Suspensions of 1-10 days based on the severity/frequency of the offense.

5 Discipline for the bully will be:  lunch detention,  loss of school privileges, or  Out of School Suspensions of 1, 3, 5, 7, or 10 days based on the severity of the offense *Student to Student:  Student or School may press charges.  -1 st Offense: Mediation with school counselor involving all students and their parents  -2 nd Offense: 1-3 days OSS  -3 rd Offense: 3-5 days OSS/ OSS Holding Center at Monticello School

6 Students are allowed to have a cell phone/electronic devices provided they are turned off during class time and are hidden from view. During non-class times, students are permitted to use their cell phones/electronic devices provided they do not distract others. All Offenses: Confiscation and parent must pick up item personally from office

7  Sit at the table indicated by your teacher.  Once seated you may not get up until directed to take your trays up and line up to leave.  Clean up after yourself.  Keep voice levels moderate, no yelling, or loud voices. Lunch Behavior Consequences  1 st Offense: Lunch Detention at teacher table  2 nd Offense: Lunch Detention(s), reflection sheet  3 rd Offense: Individual Permanent Assigned Seat

8  Students are expected to attend school in clothing that is appropriate for a productive educational environment.  Clothing accessories that bring excessive attention to an individual will be prohibited.

9  Shorts (including skorts): must be longer than the student’s fingertips reach with arms fully extended  Skirts or dresses: must be longer than the student’s fingertips reach with arms fully extended  Hats, hoods up on hooded sweatshirts, headbands, and head coverings allowed OUTSIDE of buildings ONLY.

10 Shirts must meet the following: ◦ Sleeves that cover the shoulder and underarms ◦ Necklines no lower than 3” below the collarbone, with no visible cleavage (no off shoulder shirts) ◦ Long enough to remain tucked in with arms raised, while leaning over, or while seated  Shirts hanging down more than 6 inches below the pockets must be tucked in

11  No visible undergarments  No transparent clothing  No inappropriate symbols, words, pictures, or articles depicting violence, tobacco, drugs, alcohol, vulgarity, demeaning to race.  No wallet chains or jewelry (including spiked jewelry)  No pajamas or bedroom shoes

12 1 st offense: Students wearing inappropriate clothing will be provided an opportunity to call home for a change of clothing to be brought to school/or will be asked to change into PE uniform. 2 nd offense: Student will call home for a change of clothing to be brought to school/or will be asked to change into PE uniform. Parent receive a phone call from school. 3 rd offense and further offenses: Office Referral *Repeat offenders may receive loss of school privileges/lunch-detentions/1day OSS

13 For every course offered, the maximum percent of a student’s final grade for homework will be 20%. For this reason, no late homework will be accepted for full credit. Projects will not be accepted after five consecutive school days.

14 A student will have five school days to make up the work he/she missed in the event of an absence. *It is the student’s sole responsibility to check with each teacher and the class webpage for missed assignments.

15  Cheating will not be tolerated ◦ 1 st offense, Student receive a zero on the assignment with no opportunity to make it up. Parent contact will be made. ◦ Subsequent Offenses, Parent, student, teacher, administration conference; Suspension from school, probation from after school activities for one month.

16  Community service is a school requirement. By not meeting the required hours you are choosing to be re-assigned to your traditional school for the next school year.
