2 Welcome Back!! Required Materials 8th Grade: Superior Bands in Sixteen Weeks, Quincy Hilliard We provide an Over-Sized Black Folder to keep your music in throughout the year. 4 JAZZ BAND AUDITIONS!! Music has been distributed to 7th and 8th grade students who wanted it… Auditions will be the week after the Labor Day Holiday We will NOT be helping the students with their audition music. This is their time to show us what they can prepare on their own. 5 PERFORMANCE DRESS CODE  7th Grade will remain the same:  Band Polo, Khaki Pants, Dark dress shoes and socks (order forms available for new shirts, if needed)  8th Grade:  Guys:  BLACK dress pants, BLACK socks, BLACK dress shoes, BLACK Belt, WHITE long-sleeved dress shirt, BLACK neck tie  Ladies:  BLACK, Floor Length Skirt (Measured and Sewn)  Black Blouse (ordered through the school)  Black closed-toe dress shoes and tights (Ballet Flats are Perfect!!)  WE NEED SEWING VOLUNTEERS! 8 Volunteers anyone? We will be taking various field trips throughout the year. Chaperones are selected based on the field trips that your student attends. We will need parents to chaperone for:  UGA Honor Band, SELECTED 7th and 8th grade students (December, Athens, Overnight)  Festival for each CLASS: 8th grade, 7-1, and 7-2 Large group Performance Evaluations (Mid-March, Half-day, Usually Afternoon and early evening)  6th Grade Trip to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (early February, Morning and early afternoon)  Various Concert nights for Student Supervision during another band’s performance  PLEASE SIGN UP ON THE CHAPERONE LIST UP FRONT!

Students have the number of days missed from school to make up work missed while absent. It is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements for making up a test.
