Principles of Art REPETITION The repeating of any object, shape, or design to create interest. This composition uses repetition by repeating the elements shape and line. Repeating elements in a planned manner creates a pattern.

Principles of Art RHYTHM Visual rhythm makes you think of the rhythms you hear in music or dance. Artists create visual rhythm by repeating art elements and creating patterns. The bridge supports in this painting create rhythm by leading your eyes through the landscape.
