Checker 200 Series Product Overview
2
CONFIDENTIAL Detects “presence” of a part –Recognizes an actual feature on the part Inspects features on the part –Inspects multiple features Fast and Deterministic Simple to use! Checker is an Inspection Sensor
3
CONFIDENTIAL Checker overcomes the problems of traditional sensors Checker Detects Parts –By recognizing an actual feature on the part Checker Inspects Parts that other sensors can’t inspect –Date codes, threads Checker Inspects Multiple features on a part Checker does not require precise part handling –Checker finds and tracks the part
4
CONFIDENTIAL Checker is Simple Designed for the first time user – no training or prior experience required Checker has simple to use inspection sensors designed to detect presence of features Checker produces simple, reliably timed pass/fail outputs
5
CONFIDENTIAL Requiring multiple photoelectric sensors When photoelectrics aren’t reliable When the part isn’t precisely fixtured For detecting patterns Requiring job changeover Checker solves presence sensing applications
6
CONFIDENTIAL The Checker 200 Series Versatile, multicolor lighting provides high contrast Small: 67x36x70 mm Variable working distance No Tool Needed to focus
7
CONFIDENTIAL The Checker 200 Series 24 VDC USB 2.0 (1.1 Compatible) Industrial I/O –Opto-Isolated, protected from short circuit, - and reverse polarity –Can be wired either NPN or PNP Encoder based part tracking –Encoder input (Differential and Open Collector Quadrature Encoder) Supports up to 8 outputs (with optional IO Box) IP67, Quick Disconnect M12 Connectors
8
CONFIDENTIAL USB Connection for setup and run time image and result monitoring Checker Overview Checker User Interface

10
CONFIDENTIAL What Does Checker Do? 1.Finds Parts 2.Inspects Parts
11
CONFIDENTIAL Find My Part In this example, Checker’s Part Finding Sensor is looking for a the apple on a juicebox Checker reliably detects parts because it looks for an actual feature of the part The outer area is where Checker looks for the apple. Since Checker can look in an area, it does not need precise part handling
12
CONFIDENTIAL Finding the Part Finding a part by understanding what it looks like
13
CONFIDENTIAL Find My Part The meter indicates how well the Part Finding Sensor matched the pattern. Above the threshold means the part is detected, and below means not detected
14
CONFIDENTIAL Part Finding Sensor Detects when part is in the Field of View Positions inspection sensors to the proper locations to inspect the part in the right location –Very often, parts are not positioned the same way on the line. The Part Finding Sensor finds the part, and makes sure Checker’s inspection sensors are in the right place
15
CONFIDENTIAL Inspecting Things Other Sensors Cannot Date Lot Code Inkjet Good Part
16
CONFIDENTIAL Date Lot Code Inkjet Bad Part Inspecting Things Other Sensors Cannot
17
CONFIDENTIAL Part Inspection Checker’s Inspection Sensors are designed to look and feel like photoelectric sensors Above the threshold, the sensor PASSES Below the threshold, the sensor FAILS
18
CONFIDENTIAL Checker Tracks and Inspects No need for precise part handling When Checker’s Part Finding Sensor recognizes the apple, Checker places the inspection sensors in the right place to inspect the features of the part
19
CONFIDENTIAL Checker Tracks and Inspects No need for precise part handling When Checker’s Part Finding Sensor recognizes the apple, Checker places the inspection sensors in the right place to inspect the features of the part
20
CONFIDENTIAL Checker 200 Series Models Checker 201 –Detection and Inspection –Encoder Input Checker 202 –Includes everything in Checker 201, plus Ladder Logic Adds simple to use ladder logic for custom configuration of inspection sensors Ladder logic provides flexibility to solve many more applications: –Sorting –Applications that need an “OR” Part is good if a label is on top OR on bottom –Tie inspection sensors directly to outputs
21
CONFIDENTIAL Bad Part Example: “Code Fail” Coil is true Custom Ladder Logic Results Good Part Example:
22
CONFIDENTIAL Run Time Monitoring You can see what Checker sees while it is inspecting Choose which images to display Choose which images will make Checker’s display freeze
23
CONFIDENTIAL Run Time Monitoring Monitor tab shows status of each I/O point Statistics tab shows runtime pass/fail counts
24
CONFIDENTIAL Run Time Monitoring Monitor the status of each user-defined output
25
CONFIDENTIAL Run Time Recordings You can record images while Checker is inspecting Record the standard results, or results created in logic Checker can record images of passing or failing parts so you can review your process with actual images from the production line.
