Welcome To all delegates To all panellists Despite weather and travel challenges!

Why We are Here Consider interaction between Academia, Industry and the Systems Engineering Community for the benefit of all. Identify what INCOSE and its members should be doing in the short and medium term.

INCOSE UK Terms of Reference Aims To foster the definition, recognition, understanding and practice of world class systems engineering in Industry, Academia and Government.

INCOSE UK Terms of Reference Objectives To provide a focus for debating all issues of relevant to systems engineering and exchange of knowledge To promote improvements in systems engineering education and research and to establish standards To improve the professional status of all persons engaged in the practice of systems engineering To encourage Government and Industrial support for research and educational programmes that will improve the systems engineering process and its practices.

The Records The presentations of this Academic Session have all being formatted in MS Power Point. These WILL be available on during November 2000 And will contain:- Programme of Academic Session Presentations CV and picture of Speakers Record of key points of sessions Summary of findings of the Academic Session

Conduct of the Session Raffertie’s Rules apply – I.e. anything goes if it advances the debate efficiently We will only record material suitable for open use Speakers will stick to their time limits to ensure plenty of debate time. Give names and Affiliation as speak – to help the recorders get it right We will all – hopefully – stick to the theme Chairpersons will remind us if we stray into unproductive chat and to much anecdoting

Programme and CV of Speakers The Final Programme is as given out Not to be impolite we have provided the CV’s of Presenters in the Academic Session Programme booklet. Presenters will be simply introduced by name leaving it to you to read their statements
