4. Review - Simple Steps There are normally three steps to following when combining algebraic expressions: 1. Identify key words and choose the appropriate operation(s). 2. Use the operation(s) correctly to combine the expressions. 3. Simplify your results. Results will contain an equal sign. However, on the HSA, you will not need to solve the equation. This means the most important thing is to choosing the appropriate operation (s). All of the problem of this type will appear as selected response questions.
