I. Plantation life Owners and overseers abused slaves and slaves lived in bad housing conditions Different jobs included work on the fields to harvest crops, complete chores in the master’s house and around the plantation Plantations were self-sufficient (able to provide for itself without any outside help) Most of the white population did not own plantations with slaves

II. Triangular trade Exchange of goods and people between Europe, West Africa and the Americas – 17 th and 19 th centuries Slave trade, raw materials and manufactured goods (products that are made by workers from raw materials)
