3 What to do? - During Denial Confront individuals with information Let them know the change will happen Explain what you expect and how they can adjust Give them time for it to sink in Arrange planning session to talk things over

4 What to do? - During Resistance Listen, acknowledge feelings, respond empathetically and encourage support. Don’t try to talk people out of their feelings. Respond to their concerns. Don’t tell them to “shape up” or “pull themselves together”

5 What to do? - During Exploration Concentrate on priorities Provide necessary training Set short-term goals Involve them in planning meetings

6 What to do? - During Commitment Set long-term goals Concentrate on team building Create a mission statement Acknowledge and reward those responding to change Look ahead - not back!!!!
