Our mission To provide, high quality clinical educational support for Trainee Assistant Practitioners, the Mentors and to support Health/Social Care Organisations across the North West in the development of Assistant Practitioner roles based on service need.

What is the WBEF role ? Employed by UHSM Academy and commissioned by the Workforce Modernisation Hub and hosted by trusts across the region Initially focused on TAPs Wider remit to support bands 1-4 Working across trusts and employers in the North West,assisting with role design, recruitment and publicity. Looking at developing and embedding the role of Assistant Practitioners and Trainee Assistant Practitioners, across the North West Supporting new and existing, organisations wishing to develop the TAP role

What is the WBEF role cont ? Promote Lifelong Learning and the Skills Escalator to help people optimise their abilities. Being a part of realising the potential and importance of Work-based Learning and it’s role in sculpting a dynamic workforce. Working with stakeholders, such as the T.A.P.s, Mentors, Universities, Managers and Employing organisations,The WBEF Network, The Workforce Modernisation Hub,and work of the UHSM Academy as a whole. Developing quality resources and support to North West Organisations through the work and development of the WBEF Network and utilising the talents of its members. Linking theory and practice and sharing good practice Being an Advocate for the AP role across the area

The WBEF network Currently across Cheshire and Merseyside, Cumbria and Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Mixture of background in Health Social Care and Education Different work streams the network is evolving Eduquate, Marketing, Work based learning, Research and developing and providing information Modelled using research into Communities of practice

Communities of Practice Etienne Wenger Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly. (Wenger 2009)
