2.  Book  Notebook / Paper  Pen – Blue or Black Ink ONLY  Pencil – Wooden or Mechanical You cannot do well in class unless you are prepared for class!

3.  You must trade me something of value to use one of my pencils.  Cell phone, Wallet, Keys  We trade back at the end of class…  Or, pay 25¢ to keep it.

4.  Book Covers are Required!  Book Sock or Paper  Do Not Mark in any Textbook  Damage to Textbooks Will Result in Fines YOU Will Have to Pay!  Do Not Leave Your Textbook in My Classroom – This Room is NOT Your Locker!

5.  Please Respect Me by Respecting My Room… DFWOPS!!!  Do Not Bother My things on My Desk!  Put Trash in Trashcans… Clean up Around Your Area  Do Not Bother Anything that is NOT Yours  A Stapler and Hole Puncher are available to borrow in class BUT please put them back!  Pencil Sharpeners are also available for your use.  Do Not Write on Desks, Walls, etc.

6.  Do NOT have out work for another teacher… you should be focused on the work we’re doing.  Do NOT talk during announcements; be quiet when someone calls over the intercom.  Keep your desk area tidy; keep your things in your book bag or in the book holder under your desk.  Stay out of each other’s personal SPACE  Follow the rule of TMI… no one wants to hear too much of your info… this includes gossip about teachers!

7.  We Recycle:  Paper  Empty Cans  Empty Plastic Bottles  NO Candy Wrappers or Chip Bags  NO Food Refuse

8.  To Succeed You MUST:  Participate in Class  Read, Read, Read  Complete Daily Assignments  Study, Study, Study  Complete Homework Assignments  Read, Read, Read  Come Prepared Each Day  Study, Study, Study

9.  You feed your body every day…  So… feed your mind, your heart, and your spirit too!  Don’t just roll out of bed & come to school; it takes time to prepare to do your best!

10.  If You’re Absent, You Must –  Be Responsible for Your Missed Work…Talk to a Classmate to find out What You’ve Missed then See Me! THE TEACHER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR MISSED WORK…YOU ARE

11.  Class work, Homework, &22% Participation  Quizzes, Minor Essays, &23% Minor Projects  Tests, Major Essays, Major35% Projects, Research, & Recitations  FINAL EXAM 20%

12.  Class work, Homework, &15% Participation  Quizzes, Minor Essays, &25% Minor Projects  Tests, Major Essays, Major45% Projects, Research, & Recitations  FINAL EXAM 15%

14.  You are EXPECTED to Follow the Rules & Regulations of VHS as well as class rules!  Being Tardy, Violating Dress Code, Disrupting Class, etc. WILL Result in Your Receiving a Referral!

15.  Be in Class BEFORE the Tardy Bell Rings  Go to Your Locker & the Bathroom BETWEEN Classes (Manage Your Time)  Quietly Get up to Go to the Pencil Sharpener or Trash Can  DO NOT Interrupt the Teacher Once Teaching Begins Unless there is an EMERGENCY (i.e., blood or vomit)

16.  Do Not Pack up Your Belongings Until the TEACHER States that the Class is Finished for the Day.  The TEACHER Dismisses You…NOT the Bell !!!  Disruption Before the Teacher Ends Class will Result in a Delay in Your Leaving the Classroom.

17.  Do NOT spray perfume, cologne, or use scented lotions in class.  Use deodorant every day! Observe appropriate personal hygiene.  Do NOT groom yourself in class (make up, hair, etc… do not put chunks of weave in my trashcan!)  Do NOT share your gas with the class!

18.  NO Food or Drink Allowed!  Bottled Water & Bottled Sports Drinks are okay.  I do NOT want to see, hear, smell candy or gum.

19.  No Breasts, Please!

20.  No Belly, Please!

21.  No Butt, Please!

22.  DO NOT Be Ashamed to Ask for Help…It Could Be the Difference Between Passing & Failing a Class!  After-school Help is Available… Please Set up an Appointment  DO NOT wait until the Day before a Test…Get Help in Advance if You’re Struggling

23.  I Like a COOL Room!  I Keep Fans Blowing!  Bring a Jacket if You’re Cold Natured.  DO NOT ADJUST MY FANS … THEY ARE MY PROPERTY !!!

24.  All Cell Phones Should be Turned OFF and Put Away !  NO Calls, Text Messages, etc. are Allowed to be Made in this Class.  NO ONE Should have a Need for an IPOD, MP3 Player, CALCULATOR w/ Games, VIDEO GAMES, etc. in This Class.  If I Have to Take Away an Electronic Device, You Will Receive a Referral.
