3 History of the Time The Scottsboro Trials happened during 1930. The Scottsboro Trials are a group of trials involving rape between two white women and nine black men began. All black defendants were almost decided guilty without proper trial. The jury was made up of all white people who ignored all evidence in favor of the blacks. Though the women had not been raped all men but one were sentenced as guilty.
