5 Principles Shaping Our Development Agenda 1.Maximize instructional time. 2.Establish reasonable testing times. 3.Provide transparent connections between ACT’s College Readiness Standards and the Common Core State Standards. 4.Leverage technology: enhance student engagement, produce more meaningful results, and share results in a timely fashion. 5.Increase the emphasis on evidence-centered design. 6.Include science as a critical content area. 7.Reflect the reality that there are multiple dimensions of readiness and success (validated by research)

6 13 states tested all of their students with the ACT in the 13-14 school year. –6 more states will join for the 14-15 school yr The ACT was administered online for the first time in Spring 2014—4,000 students tested. 1 million ACT Aspire tests were taken in Spring 2014 Milestones

15 129,676 students in 2014 Grad Class took The ACT. Access: –38% overall increase in ACT-tested graduates in LA since 2010. –27% of Louisiana’s ACT-tested graduates were first-generation students whose parents did not enroll in postsecondary education. FL 2014 Grad Class Report
