The great white shark also known as the great,white pointer, white shark or white death,is a species of large lamniform shark which can be found in the costal surface waters of all the major oceans.

After birth,great white shark pup receive no parental care and are left to fend for themselves

The great white is known for it’s size,with mature indivuals growing up to 6.4m [21 ft] in lenght. Male Great Whites reach maturity at 3.5-4.0m [11.5-13.1ft] long and females at 4.5- 5.0m [14.8-16.4ft] long.Adults on adverage are 4-5.2m [13-17ft] long and have a mass of 680-1,000 [1,500-2,430lb].females are generally larger than males.

Great whites sharks live in almost all costal and offshore waters which have water temperature between 12 and 24 degrees with greater concentrations in the United States [Atlantic Northeast and California] South Africa, Japan,Oceania, Chile and the Mediterrean.

Great white sharks are carnivorous and prey upon fish [e.g tuna, rays,other sharks] cetaceans [i.e dolphins, porpoises,whales] pinniheads [e.g seals, fur seals and sea lions],sea turtles,sea otters and seabirds.
