Don’t setup a Cx and a Sx (some have) ₮V? – Vacant positions = fake staff ₮Be cautious about defining position codes, 95% of the time you just need a sub-type, i.e. don’t create 3 positions for different department administrators, create one “administrator” with 3 different sub-types of department ₮How to mark student teachers? Sx ₮How to mark seconded staff you are not paying Ax

7 ₮Potentially create more than one employee named Vacant Teacher, Vacant Maint, Vacant Support ₮When a position becomes vacant.. In that real person’s F11 record that you are ending F13 – copy first ₮Once finished with the employee go to your F11 of the appropriate vacant employee and in an appropriate spot (location?? Date??) ₮Upon hire … do the reverse ₮Result: For any date(s) you can report on what your vacancies were.

9 ₮For years … we have been preaching H/R (in terms of the F11) is first to know. ₮This is of course under the pretence that H/R is in control of ‘the hire’. ₮If this is not the case … this deserves SERIOUS discussion and process review. ₮Should more people be involved in the F11 line? Are the Supt Secretaries or Supt level accessing F11? … It could be ‘the game changer’.
