Normalcy: It means a return to the economical and political isolation that characterizes the United States before it entered World War I in 1917. Tea pot dome scandal: Is a reference to an oil field on public land in the U.S state of Wyoming, the name comes because of a massive boulder that looks like a teapot overlooking the field.

After world war I, problems surfaced relating to arms control, war, debts, and the reconstruction of war-ton countries. On domestic issues, Harding favored a limited role for government in business affairs and in social reform. He still set up the bureau of the budget to help run the government more efficiently. The biggest example of corruption was the teapot dome scandal. When Harding died, Americans sincerely mourned their good-natured president. The next year, Calvin Coolidge was elected president.
