What Bill Clinton was ‘in trouble’ for several different controversies that were being investigated all at once by lawyer Kenneth Starr. Scandals and controversies included: ~ Whitewater Scandal ~ White House FBI files controversy ~ White House travel office controversy ~ Lewinsky Scandal – (AKA Monicagate, Lewinskygate, Tailgate, Sexgate, and Zippergate.) His biggest mistake was “lying under oath” about his affair with first quarter intern Monica Lewinsky.

When? ~ Bill Clinton was charged 1998 – News got it out January 17, 1998 ~ Acquitted by Senate January 7, 1999 – perjury charge failed and obstruction of justice failed.

How did this become public? Lewinsky’s friend, Linda Tripp, sent in phone recordings of Lewinsky and Clinton talking to Starr which brought the scandal to front – unleashing the court hearings and other scandals which brought upon the impeachment charge.

Result – 4 new articles Article one: Clinton preceded perjuries, false, misleading testimony to Grand Jury regarding Paula Jones case and his relationship with Monica Lewinsky. House: Passed – 228 – 206 Committee: passed – 21 - 16 Article two: President provided perjuries, false and misleading testimony in the Jones case in his answers to written questions and in his deposition. House: failed – 229 – 205 Committee: Passed - 20 - 17

Continued articles… Article three: Clinton obstructed Justin in effort to delay impede, cover-up and conceal existence of evidence related to Jones Case. House: passed – 221 -2112 Committee: passed – 21 - 16 Article four: Clinton misused and abused office by making perjuries, false and misleading statements to congress – amended by 29 – 5 vote House: failed – 285 - 148 Committee: passed – 21 - 16

Further still… Further than that in April of 1999 Clinton was given a $90,000 fine to pay. In January of 2001 he agree to a 5 year suspension of Arkansas law license automatically suspended from unites states supreme court bar – chose to resign.

In simpler terms… Clinton was not successfully “impeached” instead he resigned due to all the fire he was receiving for his lies, affairs, and what came with them – the articles.
