Page 2 Once upon a time, there was a little girl whose mother died and father married another lady. The lady had two daughters who asked the little girl to wash the dishes and clean.

Page 3 When the poor girl had finished her work, she sat on the chimney-corner amongst the cinders, which made her sisters give her the name of “Cinderella.”

Page 4 One day the king's son sent invitations to a ball at his palace. The two sisters were invited among other young women.

Page 5 The two sisters stepped into their carriage, and drove away to the palace.

Page 6 Cinderella returned to the kitchen in tears because she wanted to attend the ball too. Suddenly, she saw a beautiful woman who asked her: “Hey dear! What are all these tears about my child?” “Hey dear! What are all these tears about my child?”

Page 7 “I am your godmother and I can help you.”

Page 8 She gave Cinderella a magnificent ball-dress and a beautiful pair of elastic glass slippers.

Page 9 The godmother told her that she had to come back before midnight because everything would go back to normal by then.

Page 10 The prince took her hand and invited her to dance. The arrival of Cinderella called everybody’s attention at the palace.

Page 11 When Cinderella saw that it was almost midnight, she left the palace as quickly as possible.

Page 12 She let one of her glass slippers fall on her way out, which the prince picked up with the greatest care.

Page 13 The prince published an announcement saying that he would marry the lady whose foot would fit the slipper.

Page 14 When the gentlemen arrived at Cinderella´s house, she asked them to try it on her foot.

Page 15 And the slipper fit her foot perfectly. When the sisters realized that Cinderela was that beautiful woman at the palace, they apologyzed for everything they did to her before.

Page 16 The prince asked Cinderella to marry him.

Page 17 “So they got married and lived happily ever after”
