COMPANY FACTS: Universal Foods Limited is part of the Associated Brands Industries Limited (ABIL) Group of Companies who are the makers of Charles chocolates, Sunshine Snacks and Consolidated Biscuits. Universal Foods Limited is the only “Ready To Eat” (RTE) cereal manufacturer in the English Speaking Caribbean. We began our operations in August 1986, manufacturing seven types of cereal under one brand. Presently UFL manufactures twenty-two types under seven different brands for local and export sales. Universal Foods Limited has been updating its technology throughout its years of operations and is proud to be comparable with the world leaders in ready to eat breakfast cereals.

COMPANY ACHIEVMENTS: Our Plant has been ISO 9001:2008 certified since April of 2000 HACCP based program implemented and follow all rules and regulations in compliance with the OSHA act Kosher certification Awarded the Prime Minister’s Exporter Of The Year Award for Quality (2000) in our first year of competing. We continue to expand our Export markets (Latin America) through the quality and competitive pricing of our products. We have continuously updated technology and plant capability, thereby offering our customers continuous improvement in quality, price competitiveness and an on-time level of service.

SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAM
UFL Currently supplies breakfast cereals & flavored milk to over 100,000 students monthly in over 150 schools nationwide We have partnered with RICA milk from DR who supplies Chocolate and Vanilla flavored milk under our private label Sunshine Milk Cereal is sold in bowls as one serving per student with one 200 ml flavored milk Since implementation, cereals have been viewed as added value to students diets and a healthy alternative to the breakfast menu
