Opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer Open to everyone in a community –No age limit Is a community gathering rather than an athletic event –Don’t let the word Relay confuse you Overnight event where team members take turns walking or running the track –Cancer doesn’t sleep for a night, we don’t either 1-800-ACS-2345 www.cancer.org

5 How did Relay begin? May 1985, Dr. Gordy Klatt wanted to raise money for the American Cancer Society in Tacoma, Washington Raised $27,000 that year 1986 – 220 supporters on 19 teams joined Dr. Klatt in this overnight event
