Adventurous Education at Bradbury School

School Wide Programme Starts at Year 4 then carries on until Year 6. All the activities progress towards the Year group camp. The activities are run by Miss Farry during PE sessions.

Progression of the Camps. Year 4 Cheung Chau Camp. The main focus is staying away from home for two nights and the reinforcement of Adventurous Education Skills. Year 5 Chong Hing Water Sports Centre. The main focus is water sports, tenting experience, and the reinforcement of Adventurous Education Skills. Year 6 Outward Bound Experience.

Skills Taught during Adventurous Education A variety of skills are taught through the PE sessions. Ms Farry uses a combination of individual and team challenges to teach these skills. The skills are then reinforced at Camp.

How can you help. Encourage your child to be brave if they are nervous about staying away from home by emphasizing the fun activities that they will complete. Help them pack their bags but don’t do it for them. (camp kit list provided)

Itinerary Day 1 9:00 – leave school 9:45 – ferry and snack 10:15 – arrive at camp 12:00 – lunch 12:30 – The Great Race 3:30 – meet at beach 4:00 – check in at camp 4:30 – camp briefing 5:00 – shower 6:00 – dinner at waterfront restaurant 7:00 – walk back to camp 8:00 – Bed 8:30 – lights out
