NetQ6 e-Handbook Offline and Online Offline: + All content available offline without internet access - Requires video content to be embedded into document. This would create a very large file that may not be able to send/receive through emails. Online: + Smaller file + External links directly accessed + Video content can be updated and kept current, with same url we can replace content. - Accessed online only, worry that would be mini website instead of handbook. Suggestion: Mix of both: e-Handbook designed as pdf linking to videos online (stored on the networks website) and external links to other sources eg similar to iTunes U. 1. Content to be included 2. iTunes U Learn anything, anywhere, anytime Integrates with iBooks and other apps to provide online courses for students. NetQ6 e-Handbook could use the website to enable users to download video and content separately to user computers.

NetQ6 e-Handbook Formats Different e-readers on all devices, each specialise in one format eg PDFs, ePubs and KF8 or mobi (Kindle readers). PDFs most common format as can be open in a number of devices (laptops, PCs, Macs and mobile devices). Preparing a responsive design document: enables users to access document on different devices/screen sizes but with the same user experience. In terms of the e-handbook, we will need to create the design to suit a number of different resolutions i.e. create more than one size. 1. Content to be included 2. NetQ6 e-Handbook Tools used to create handbook After content is collated from each partner, evaluated and proofed by WP7, it will be designed in InDesign, published as PDF and ePub and promoted within the marketplace (next slide). Design: Designing the handbook will give us another valuable opportunity to showcase the network brand. We can also cater the design for different screen sizes. Promote on website and ensure material can be accessed. 1. Content to be included 2. Benefits of offline and online documents 3. Preparing handbook format 4. Tools used to create handbook 5. NetQ6 e-Handbook Examples eBooks/handbooks: Popular for text only to make reading easier for user. e-Handbooks now becoming more design savvy, with colours, images inserts. Interactive PDFs with video can be max 6 pages, usually designed to advertise a company/product. However our handbook is to show quality practice content, with a number of videos and visual content, so would be too big to have all embedded in one document (assuming we have more than one best practice for each partner and that this handbook can grow over time). NetQ6 E-handbook is interactive and unique as includes video etc. 1. Content to be included 2. Benefits of offline and online documents 3. Preparing handbook format 4.
