2. What is PICMG? PICMG - The PCI Industrial Computers Manufacturer's Group Is a consortium of over 450 industrial computer product vendors. PICMG's charter is to develop specifications for PCI-based systems and Boards for use in industrial computing applications. Member Companies Include industry leaders such as IBM, Motorola, Texas Microsystems, HP,Compaq, Industrial Computer Source, DEC, Force Computers, GESPAC, Pro-Log, Teknor and Ziatech. 4. What is AdvancedTCA? ATCA stands for - Advanced Telecommunication Computing Architecture, (also called AdvancedTCA), it is a new series of PICMG specifications Targeted to requirements for the next generation of carrier-grade Communications Equipment. ATCA incorporates the latest trends in high speed interconnect technologies, next generation processors, and improved reliability, manageability and serviceability, resulting in a new blade (board) and chassis (shelf) form factors.

5. Asis has two ATCA chassis product lines:  Perform™  Effective™ Asis Perform series Asis Perform series - is design to Exceed the Conditions defined in PICMG 3.0 R 2.0. 6. A typical platform consists of the following key components: 19-inch rack mount shelf 19-inch rack mount shelf - Base hardware element, made out of metal,of the platform, which holds all the Components together. Backplane Backplane - PCB which interconnect all the internal component of the chassis such as Front blades, shelf manager, fan tray etc… The backplane provides full-mesh or dual star Fabric interface, and direct mating to the PEM's and To the Shelf Manager board. PEMPEM (Power Entry Module) - Redundant, field replaceable, providing DC current and all the necessary power to the chassis. Front blade, RTM Front blade, RTM - third party blades (ATCA complaint) that can be inserted in to the chassis either from the front or the rear side. Rear Connectivity Panel Rear Connectivity Panel – rear connected panel that enable the user co connect to the shelf manager thru the rear side of the chassis. Asis AdvancedTCA Class

7. Power supply Power supply - Redundant, field replaceable AC driven capable of supplying all the necessary power to the chassis. Fan tray Fan tray - Hot-swappable, provides side to side cooling or front bottom to back top cooling, designed To provide N+1 Fan redundancy cooling to components on the front and Rear of the shelf. Air filter tray Air filter tray - field replaceable, Keeps the airflow free of dust and particles. Blank Panels – provide homogenous air flow within the chassis thus enabling sufficient air flow to each blade and RTM. Shelf ID Board Shelf ID Board (SEEPROM) - contain information about the shelf id and Population as well As manufacturer. Cable management Holders - for Front or rear cable management.
