4. Today’s subject, Anna Dronzek, is traced through four generations of her paternal line. Paternal lines often, but not always, are easier to research. An example of practicable research, based on personal knowledge, family knowledge, and a few readily available sources.

5. Research begins with oneself. It extends to family, no matter how defined. And, then, research may move beyond personal and familial knowledge to information kept by others, often for purposes removed from genealogy.

6. Anna Dronzek (I) Born London, England, June 30, 1969, to Joan M. (Richardson) and Elmer J. Dronzek. Born an American and British citizen. Moved to United States in 1970. Childhood in Concord, Massachusetts. Educated at Williams College, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Colorado. Medieval historian, professor, and law student.

7. Elmer Joseph Dronzek (II) Born Peckville, Pennsylvania, January 29, 1921, to John and Sophia Dronzek. B-29 navigator, U.S. Army Air Force, World War II, Pacific theater. Educated at University of Bridgeport and Case Western Reserve University. Industrial engineer, retires as Vice-President for manufacturing of Gillette in 1986. Dies Stuart, Florida, April 26, 2007.

8. John William Dronzek (III) Born Olyphant, Pennsylvania, September 4, 1893, to Stephen and Anna Dronzek. Works in Scranton, Pennsylvania, silk mill as an adolescent. Works in Scranton coal mines as an adult. Family lore places his death in mine accident in approximately 1933.

9. Stephen Dronzek (IIII) Born in 1865, likely in present Slovakia. Arrives in United States in 1881. His wife, Anna, born in 1872, also likely in present Slovakia. Works in Scranton, Pennsylvania, coal mines. Stephen and Anna have at least eight children. Dates for the couple’s marriage, and their deaths, as yet undetermined.
