“I Am Not Ashamed of the Gospel of Christ” -- Romans 1:16
2
I am not ashamed of the Age of the Gospel The gospel is not modern. It is ETERNAL (1 Peter 1:23-25) “The word of the Lord endures forever. Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.” (1:25) The gospel is unalterable (Galatians 1:6-9)
3
I am not ashamed of the Apostles who Delivered the Gospel The apostolic traditions contain the gospel (2 Thessalonians 2:13-14) The gospel was entrusted to the apostles by God (1 Thess. 2:4) The gospel can be understood by reading what the apostles wrote! (Romans 16:25-26; Eph. 3:3-5)
4
I am not ashamed of the Morality of the Gospel Condemnation of sin and immorality is “according to the gospel” (1 Timothy 1:8-11) We should not be ashamed to uphold the gospel’s standard of morality (1 Peter 4:15-16, 3-4)
5
I am not ashamed to fellowship those who Preach the Gospel Paul encouraged Timothy to share in suffering for the gospel (2 Timothy 1:8) If we love the gospel, we should love and support those who preach it (Philippians 1:7; 2 Timothy 1:16-17)
6
I am not ashamed of the Christ of the Gospel The gospel contains the truth about Jesus’ life, death, burial, resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Tim. 2:8) I should not be ashamed of Jesus or is words as presented in the gospel (Luke 9:26)
7
Do not be ashamed of the gospel, so that you need not be ashamed when the Lord returns in judgment! “And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.” (1 John 2:28)
