The Gospel: God’s Power To Save Romans 1: 16-17 Rom 1:16 ¶ For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

The Simplicity of Fallen Man’s Condition God is perfect. Fallen Man is not perfect. Fallen Man’s spiritual condition before God is death. It is an absolute and hopeless condition without Christ.

All Have Sinned Rom. 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; glory- the word denoted the manifested perfection of His character, especially His righteousness. (Vines)

Perfect Righteousness Requires Perfect Justice Rom. 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. judgment- a statute or decision:--judgment, justification, ordinance, righteousness.

Vengeance vengeance- execution of right and justice, maintenance of right. Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Justification and Redemption Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: justify- to set forth as righteous, to justify by a judicial act redemption- (the act) ransom in full Our forgiveness is the result of the process of justification by means of the ransom paid by Christ.

Propitiation Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; propitiation- an expiatory (place or thing), i.e. (concretely) an atoning victim. [expiation- the act of atoning for sin or wrongdoing (especially appeasing a deity)]

Just and Justifier Rom 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. The gift of Jesus by the grace of God makes it possible for us to be declared just and God to maintain His just character.

NEW LIFE THE DEATH OF JESUS For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Freed- to set forth as righteous, justify.

The Simplicity of the Good News God sent Jesus to satisfy His righteous judgment so that those of us who are imperfect can find forgiveness through the redemption in Christ’s blood and have a relationship with a perfect God and Father.
