The gospel unifies

The gospel divides Luke 12:51–52 “Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division; for from now on five members in one household will be divided, three against two and two against three.”

The gospel divides Where is the power? Where is the wisdom? Where is the intellect? Where is the grace? Where is the tolerance? Where is the effort?

The gospel divides 2 Corinthians 4:4 …the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ...

The gospel divides Penn Jillette “If you believe there is a heaven and hell and people could be going to hell or not getting eternal life and you think, It’s not really worth telling them this because it would make it socially awkward… How much must you have to hate somebody to believe that eternal life is possible and not tell them that?”

The gospel divides Galatians 1:7–8...there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!

The gospel reveals ① wisdom from God 1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit....

The gospel reveals ① wisdom from God Hebrews 10:10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

The gospel reveals ② power from God 1 Thessalonians 2:8 Having so fond an affection for you, we were well- pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us.

The gospel reveals ③ truth from God Acts 16:30–31 …[the jailer] said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Paul and Silas answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved....”
