2
Description of Disaster It occurred in Boston, Massachusetts on November 28, 1942 and the fire started around 10:15pm in the Melody lounge downstairs. A soldier had removed a light bulb from the one lamp to give him some privacy to kiss his date. Later a 16 year old busboy named Stanley Tomaszewski was told to but the light bulb back into the lamp but as he attempted to but it back into the socket the bulb fell out and the club was dimly lit so he had to light a match so he could see where the bulb landed and he caught the flammable palm trees that were near by. The waiters were trying to put the fire out but the fire spread to the nearby decorations that were hanging on the walls and ceiling. It killed 492 people and injuring hundreds of others. It occurred in Boston, Massachusetts on November 28, 1942 and the fire started around 10:15pm in the Melody lounge downstairs.
