CRE/SMI Review Currently conducted every 5 years Two Different Reviews Done in Unison CRE examines all responsibilities outlined in the Sponsor Agreement SMI evaluates the nutrient levels in the menu

CRE/SMI Process Schedule an On-Site Review – Advanced Notice Number of Sites Reviewed – based on size of school district/RCCI – One site only selected for SMI review Site Selection – based on last Oct. data or other factors. Must do Provision 2 sites. Meals reviewed: SBP, NSLP, and possibly After School Snack Program (ASCP) Review Periods: CRE = Review Month, Day SMI = Week

Entrance Conference Exit Conference with Superintendent Findings – (CRE only) 1.Corrective Action - Due Date Agreed Upon 2.Fiscal Actions - Claims Adjustment at closing of review » $600 Disregard = Benefit & Claiming errors » No Disregard = Menu Planning Errors Improvement Plan – (SMI only)
