Agenda System Overview Target Market System Specifications –Minos S650 –Proteus S650 –S650 Integrated Devices and Back I/O –Integrated Video Notes Summary
3
System Overview The Premio S650 micro ATX motherboard is based on the SiS 650 chipset The SiS 650 chipset enables DDR266 memory support for the Intel Pentium® 4 processor The S650 comes with integrated video (along with an AGP 4X slot), network (Realtek 8100L 10/100Mbps), and audio (AC97) The S650 will be available in our Proteus and Minos chassis
4
Target Market The target segment of the S650 is the entry level or home user market Because the S650 comes with video, audio, and LAN integrated, system cost is minimal Since the S650 supports DDR266 and comes with an open AGP slot, the system is easily upgraded to high performance system A socket 478 design will allow the S650 to accommodate the existing P4 CPUs up to 2.6GHz and the upcoming low cost Celeron 4 processors

Integrated Video Notes It is shared with the system memory It is use selectable in the BIOS at 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64MB; the default is 32MB The more memory you allocate for the onboard video, the higher the monitor resolution and color depth For the majority of users, 32MB is more than enough to drive their 17”, 19”, or even 21” monitors For example, if you have 128MB of system memory and the onboard video memory is set at 32MB, it will decrease your total system memory down to 96MB (128MB – 32MB = 96MB) If you use the onboard video, you will lose A MINIMUM OF 4MB from the system memory If you add an AGP video card, it will automatically disable the onboard video and you’ll get the full amount of system memory You cannot use an AGP video and onboard video at the same time
