2 Anti-Social Behaviour in Europe ADT Research Anti-Social Behaviour Across Europe (2006) survey. About 1,000 in each country – Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. Defined ASB (following Home Office) as: –Misuse of public space – street drinking, inappropriate use of vehicles –Disregard for community well-being – swearing, drunken behaviour, uncontrolled animals –Acts directed at people – e.g. bullying, verbal abuse, intimidating behaviour –Environmental damage – e.g. graffiti, vandalism, dropping litter

3 Anti-Social Behaviour in Europe Anti-Social Behaviour a ‘big’ or ‘moderate’ problem Anti-Social Behaviour is a growing problem

4 However, all countries thought that anti-social behaviour was more of a problem in their country than elsewhere in Europe. Respondents in all six countries rated the severity of the problem in each country
