Oxygen Levels and Temperature Alex, Brandon, Carly, and Danielle ABCD’s
2
2 Experiment By sending a weather balloon into the air, we hope to determine differences in oxygen and temperature levels. We want to know if changes in the amount of oxygen in the air, effects the temperature in that area.
3
Equipment helium filled weather balloon cardboard box string duct tape industrial strength Velcro LabPro oxygen sensor temperature probe laptop
4
Procedure Final check of gondola security Insert LabPro and connect the sensor and probe then attach to balloon Press the Start/Stop button Allow the balloon to reach maximum height (1000 ft) At maximum height start to pull the balloon back down to the ground Approximately 40 minutes total
5
Hypothesis We believe that as the temperature probe and oxygen sensor ascend, the oxygen levels will stay relatively constant, but the temperature of the atmosphere will start out higher and then decrease with increasing elevation.

Graphs
7
Data Analysis Two runs Second run successful Lasted 35:57 Collected 2158 data points At the highest elevation - temp. at the lowest At starting elevation - temp. at the highest Oxygen percent levels stayed within a 3% change range.
8
Conclusion As predicted, the temperature levels decreased with increased elevation and were their highest at ground level, while oxygen percent levels stayed relatively constant. Our hypothesis was proven correct.
