Decrease in reef productivity, decrease in fish & seafood resources
Possible extinction of animal & plant species that thrive in coral reefs

Lack of awareness on the effects of the said practices on nature, the people’s economy, well-being and society
Insufficient implementation of laws protecting the coral reefs

Destructive human practices such as dangerous fishing methods, deforestation and heavy fertilizer use

3. The Changes We Want are:
 Increased awareness of fellow students & community members on the present state of our coral reefs.
 Setting up of a group or club that will involve the students and community members in protecting our coral reefs.

 Printing & selling T-shirts with a message on saving the coral reef
Save the reef
 Printing & selling stickers.
Proceeds will be donated to an organization that actively protects our coral reefs.

7. We shall come up with an action center (via the club) that will receive:
 Reports on incidents of dynamite fishing to police authorities
 Reports on commercial-scale gathering/collection of corals, shells, etc.
