1 Harvest Time Where are Your Fruit?
Galatians 5:16-26

2 Works of the Flesh Our sinful nature when we are not in Christ or surrendered to the leading of the Holy Spirit vs Sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties It is a willful LIFESTYLE, not the occasional stumble Verse 21- Living this type of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God

3 Fruit of the Holy Spirit
The result of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives It starts once you are saved (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:13-14) It can not be achieved by our own works, but by yielded hearts to the Holy Spirit’s influence We will reap what we sow (flesh or spirit) Galatians 6:7-9 We are part of the body of Christ, so apart from Him we can do nothing good. John 15:4-8

4 Fruit up-close Love – AGAPE (unconditional)
Joy – natural reaction to the work of God; A choice that is internally motivated not external (happy) Peace – transcends all earthly matters Patience (longsuffering) – Makrothumia(Greek) – “long temper”; ability to hold one’s temper for a long time Kindness – chrestotes (Greek) –”benignity, tender concern, uprightness”. Led God to provide salvation for us (Romans 2:4)

5 Fruit up-close Goodness – agathosune (Greek) – “uprightness of heart and life”; Confronting someone about a sin; Live so they will glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16) Faithfulness – steadfastness, constancy; believe that God is Who He says He is no matter what life’s adversity brings. (Hebrews 11) Gentleness (meekness) – humility and thankfulness towards God, and polite, restrained behavior towards others. It is NOT WEAKNESS Self-control (temperance) – ability to control oneself; involves moderation, constraint, and the ability to say “no” to basely desires and fleshly lusts.

6 What are you planting? The deeper (more intimate) you are with God and the Holy Spirit, the more fruit will be produced in your life. “The only thing we (our flesh) bring to salvation is the sin necessary for it to happen.” - unknown We are constantly sowing – be INTENTIONAL to feed your spirit the things of God and not the world. Have a greater self-awareness; Be real with where you are and take inventory. Not enough fruit – check your seeds!
